This is a part-time role working 21 hours a week.

This is a maternity cover role fixed term contract of initially 9 months (likely to extend to 12 months), with a salary of GBP £30 - £35,000 pro rata (or equivalent depending on experience and location).

This role is home based and flexible working patterns are possible, with the expectation that regardless of time zone you will be able to work flexibly to support work with colleagues in different time zones including occasional work outside normal working hours. 

Candidates must have the right to work in the country they are based - we do not sponsor work permits or contribute to costs.

Candidates can be based in either: New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, UK, India, Kenya or South Africa.

We are looking for an experienced digital communications candidate to support the design and implementation of the global civil society movement strategy through the day-to-day development, management and co-moderation of Family for Every Child’s Changemakers for Children platform. The Digital & Community Officer is responsible for developing, coordinating and supporting platform initiatives such as communities of practice, campaigns, and collaborations between platform users, as well as facilitating effective user engagement and communications.

The ideal candidate will have experience of building a global movement of local civil society organisations, ideally in the development sector, identifying and using digital mechanisms, in order to support Family for Every Child in engaging with our members and wider stakeholders to enable advocacy at national, regional and international levels, based on a wealth of locally led experience and credible
evidence.

Specifically this role will ensure a positive digital experience for users of our platform through the appropriate use of extensions, updates and other digital mechanisms, and troubleshooting technical issues as they arise.

You will apply your digital and creative experience and knowledge to contribute to the development of Family for Every Child’s overall digital and communications strategies, including identifying other digital mechanisms and opportunities for Family for Every Child to engage with to strengthen its on-line presence and visibility in the sector.

With a minimum of 2 years experience of digital communications in a similar role, you will have advanced IT skills, with a good working knowledge of website content management and CRM databases, the ability to analyse complex data and present this in an accessible and brief way and the ability to work independently and across multiple portfolios and subject areas at the same time.
